My Writing

When I was 8 years old, I wrote and illustrated my own books about a dog who wandered into a church, and the ensuing debate that led to his acceptance. I've been hooked ever since.

When I was a freshman in high school, I spent my school year writing and editing my first novel, about a high school girl’s first time falling in love and her spiritual journey through the trauma of a shark attack. Pretty deep stuff, I'm sure you'll agree.

I majored in English, with an emphasis on Creative Writing, and actually enjoyed writing papers. I also wrote for and edited the Opinion Editorial page of our college newspaper.

You can read a few of my college papers on the blog:

I wrote about visiting Cannery Row with my Steinbeck Seminar class.

I also wrote about the politics of John Steinbeck.

My opening blog post is my all-time favorite college paper.

Since graduation, I've been working toward being a full time writer.

I am a Life write for ThriveWire, reporting stories on food, family, and careers that aim to help people thrive.

I have had some religious reflections published at OnFaith.

I write books features for Bustle.

I have written beauty features for Bite Size Wellness.

I also write for Lydia Magazine.

I had an article published by Verily Magazine titled "Are TV Marathons Taking Over My Life?".
